Laelith is a very large city where hundreds of thousands of inhabitants live. Far from everything, surrounded by high mountains and extinct volcanoes, bordered by a large lake to the east and dizzying cliffs to the west, it remains difficult to reach. However, it is a prosperous city, and people mainly come here for three reasons: first, for its ecumenism and the possibility for each pilgrim to register their cult in the great Book of one of the four Elemental Temples; second, for its economic vitality, with the ability for a merchant to sell or buy almost anything that the world produces; and finally, for its opportunities, which every adventurer will try to exploit for the fame and wealth they can bring! But beware, like its rugged terrain - a very steep slope, a fault dividing the city in two, a subsoil full of dangers, a maze of labyrinthine streets… - the Four Times Holy City holds many unsuspected enigmas, multiple and devious court intrigues, and numerous terrifying mysteries… all opportunities for an ambitious character to achieve the greatest glory… or the most pathetic demise.
Laelith covers an area of just under 8 km2, with a significant difference in altitude of 900m between Lake Altalith and the cliffs to the west of the city. This slope generates a stratified urbanization and chaotic traffic.
Laelith is composed of six terraces, each with its own identity and atmosphere. Here are the names of the terraces:
There is also a district called the Cloaque, located beneath the city, which serves as a drainage network. Populated by dangerous creatures, it is not recommended to go down there.
In summary, Laelith is a lively, cosmopolitan city full of life, where one can enjoy numerous activities, discover talented artisans, and have a unique spiritual experience.
