Laelith is a legendary medieval fantasy city born in France in 1985 — a richly detailed and immersive world crafted over nearly four decades by more than 30 authors, illustrators, cartographers, and game designers. Recognized as a cornerstone of the French Touch in roleplaying games, Laelith is celebrated for its unparalleled depth, coherence, and longevity. From its intricate political, religious, and economic systems to the sweeping narratives and hundreds of locations and characters that populate it, Laelith offers a living, breathing universe. Its meticulous map — featuring over 20,000 buildings down to the centimeter — is a testament to the creators’ dedication and vision.

To safeguard and expand this unique creation, the Laelith Foundation was established in 2022 in the United States by former founders of Days of Wonder (Ticket to Ride, Small World). Now the sole owner of the Laelith IP, the non-profit Foundation’s mission is threefold:

• Preserve Laelith for future generations by placing it outside of corporate control, ensuring that it will never fall victim to the kind of exploitative acquisitions that have plagued so many beloved properties.
• Introduce Laelith to the English-speaking world, with long-overdue translations and adaptations that bring its wonders to a global audience.
• Bring Laelith to the Metaverse — a bold initiative to transform the city into an interactive digital platform for RPG fans around the world. This ambitious vision includes dynamic 3D maps, virtual tabletops (VTT), chat-enabled guild halls, searchable wikis, a digital library of scenarios and lore, AI-assisted exploration tools, and even user-owned virtual properties.

The Foundation is building Laelith’s future on principles of open collaboration and decentralized organization: doers will decide.
